Maheswaram

Maheswaram is located at a distance of 30 Kms from Hyderabad. Once you cross Falaknuma, CRPF etc., you come across a village Tukkuguda. Travel 6 Kms further from Tukkuguda and you will find the temple arch welcoming you to Maheswaram. From there travel for approximately 7 kms and you are in Maheswaram and to your left side is the temple with a tank on both sides. It is told that the temple was builg during the period of Akkanna and Madanna. The main diety Sri Raja Rajeswara Swamy is on the first floor and the goddess is in the cellar flanked by the tank waters on both the sides. The temple opens at 6.00 am and closes by 1230 hrs and reopened at 1600 hrs and closed by 2000 hrs. It is worth visiting. Behind the temple you can also visit the remains of the fort. Around 9 Kms from Maheswaram is a place "Gattupalli" where the presiding diety is Lord Anjaneya. Many people from the neighbouring villages visit this temple and it is believed that the wishes of people are fulfilled.
